Apart from skiing, skating is also a popular and healthy sport for people in Beijing. There are indoor and outdoor skating rinks in the city. Skating is very popular with people of all ages on cold days.
I went to the outdoor ice-skate ring at Houhai lake in Shichahai area. When I was there, some parts of the lake still not frozen which made me worry about safty of the ring. However, there were hundreds of people on the frozen lake so I get through my worry and put skating shoes on.

Ice-hockey
Not only the kids and teenagers on the ring but also elders. The most senior citizens who skating have their own skating shoes. The most impressive was a grandma who skating like a professional ice-skater by spin as a balletena around the ring.
